Lucentra Care, LLC is a growing in-home and telehealth ABA therapy practice serving children and families across the Maryland region. We provide individualized, evidence-based behavioral services designed around each family’s needs — combining telehealth flexibility with the in-person support Maryland Medicaid requires.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a dedicated, clinically skilled BCBA to join our team on a part-time or fee-for-service contract basis — ideal if you’re supplementing another role or building a caseload on your own schedule.

This is a remote position: the large majority of your clinical, supervisory, and administrative work is done via telehealth from wherever you’re based. To meet Maryland Medicaid’s in-person service requirements, you’ll travel to Maryland 2–3 days per month for direct client sessions — all travel expenses (flights/mileage, lodging, and per diem as applicable) are covered by Lucentra Care.

Please read this part carefully. Maryland Medicaid requires a minimum share of supervision and caregiver-guidance services to be delivered in person, measured per client per calendar month. That makes these travel days a firm commitment rather than a flexible one — they’re scheduled in advance around your calendar, but the cadence itself isn’t optional. If monthly travel to Maryland doesn’t fit your life, this isn’t the right role, and we’d rather you know now.

This is an excellent opportunity for a BCBA who wants the flexibility of a remote caseload without giving up hands-on clinical work, and who values clinical depth over volume and genuine family partnership.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Services

• Conduct FBAs, preference assessments, and skills assessments (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, Vineland, ADOS)
• Develop individualized treatment plans and evidence-based BIPs
• Analyze progress data and make data-driven program modifications
• Implement naturalistic and structured ABA strategies via telehealth, with in-person sessions during scheduled Maryland travel days
• Maintain accurate, insurance-compliant clinical documentation

Supervision & Team Development

• Provide direct clinical supervision to RBTs and paraprofessionals (remote and in-person)
• Conduct competency assessments, feedback, and training for support staff
• Optional: mentor and support BCBA candidates or trainees

Non-billable supervision, competency assessment, and trainee mentoring are compensated separately at an agreed hourly rate — see Compensation below.

Family & Caregiver Partnership

• Deliver structured parent training and caregiver support via telehealth, with in-person touchpoints during Maryland travel
• Communicate progress and treatment recommendations clearly and supportively
• Foster trust-based partnerships with families

Compliance & Quality

• Adhere to BACB ethics, Maryland LBA regulations, and payer requirements
• Support Maryland Medicaid’s in-person service requirements through scheduled monthly travel
• Available for case consultation, peer review, and quality assurance discussions
• Maintain continuing education per BACB and Maryland LBA renewal requirements

QualificationsRequired

• Active BCBA certification in good standing with the BACB
• Active Maryland Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) license
• Master’s degree in ABA, Psychology, Special Education, or related field
• Experience providing ABA services to pediatric clients with ASD
• Experience supervising RBTs or behavior technicians
• Strong organizational, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
• Willingness and ability to travel to Maryland 2–3 days per month on a consistent monthly schedule (travel costs covered)

Preferred

• 2+ years of post-certification BCBA clinical experience
• Experience with early intervention (ages 2–6)
• Familiarity with insurance authorization and documentation processes
• Experience delivering parent training via telehealth
• Background in multidisciplinary collaboration (SLP, OT, or similar)

Please note: an active Maryland LBA license is required at the time of hire — licensure eligibility alone doesn’t satisfy this requirement. If you’re mid-process on your LBA application, reach out and we’re happy to talk timing.

Compensation & Structure

Part-Time / Fee-for-Service Contract

• $80–$90 per hour for billable clinical services (assessment, supervision, and caregiver guidance), depending on experience and case complexity
• Non-billable clinical work is paid, not absorbed. RBT competency assessments, trainee mentoring, and required trainings are compensated at an agreed hourly rate set in your contract
• Paid semi-monthly on submitted hours — not on claim collection. You get paid on your schedule, not the payer’s
• Build a caseload that fits your availability — ideal if you’re supplementing another role
• Opportunity to grow your caseload as our client census expands

Travel Fully Covered

• Flights or mileage, lodging, and per diem for your monthly Maryland in-person days — arranged and paid by us, booked well ahead and planned around your calendar
• Travel days are typically split across the month rather than run back-to-back, which builds in a makeup window if a family cancels

Autonomy That’s Real

• Caseload cap you agree to in advance — we build for clinical depth, not volume
• You set your own hours and availability (the monthly in-person days are the one fixed commitment)
• Any meeting we ask you to attend is compensated

Schedule

You set your own schedule. Families are generally available Monday through Friday, with some open to Saturday appointments — we’ll match you to caseload that fits the hours you want to work. We don’t schedule client services on Sundays. Maryland travel days are planned in advance around your calendar, usually several weeks out.
